An ability, natural or learned, to see the fullness of somone To use that understanding for the sole benefit of the individual No outside motives or personal opinion, purely keyed into the person The relationship is one of a 'player' who runs their own life and the coach who provides insight.
		Coaching Disciplines

The most prevelent and known form of coaching is, of course, sports coaches. While the above common center is the same, sports coaching is quite different from the business or personal coaching domains we are discussing here.

Business Coaching

There are two main ancestors of Business Coaching.
LIfe Coaching and all the related disciplines born from Consulting.

Life Coaching

Life coaching has a more diverse types of coaching than does Business Coaching.  These will not be covered here.  They are well documented in myriad sites on the Web.

Life coaching is descended more from therapeutic disciplines. Such as psychology, and behavioral therapists. 
Today, 'Life" coaching enjoys a clear and solid differentiation from the therapeutic areas.  This is as it should be. Therapy requires a very different set of skills; supported by specialized education.  It is not to say that therapeutic professionals do not use coaching to make their work more effective.  Many do.  

These delineations are overly simplified.  You will find fascinating discussions and viewpoints on them.  
The coaching aspects of Business coaching are actually derived or influenced by the Life Coaching disciplines.

It is Life Coaching that has advanced with precision, the methods that are so effective in understanding and assisting others.  

Coaching of all types can be quite profound. Most people, engaging it for the first time, wish they had known about it all their lives. No matter what your need, there is almost certainly a coach out there for you.

There are many coaching sites on the Internet. It is bewildering when you do a search for coaching. They may be among the most interesting sites on the Web. The main outward tool of a coach is the way things are phrased and the precision of the use of imagery wording. It should be no surprise they are also inventive in domain names and presentation of their sites. Truly people who think beyond the box. Inside outside and on the planes.
